Advice? mortgage with payday loans&defaults pls!!

    No, we didn’t apply, mortgage broker ran it by then and they said they wouldn’t proceed because of the pay day loans ....

    We are gutted in a way... but in another way not. That much as it will give us more time to save more of a deposit etc

    Frustrated, did not realise pay day loans would ruin our credit file!! Thought they would actually help it?! Just like getting a credit card and paying it in full every month, could scream

    why did the mortgage advisor not tell you this before you paid a deposit?

    My thoughts exactly, he has said he will maybe get us it all back, I!!!8217;ve complained to Wonga and asked them to remove them? Although not sure I will get anywhere

    Payday loans are only used by people desperate for money due to the high interest so shows signs of financial difficulty/poor money management.

    Using a credit card each month and paying it off in full would have resulted in no interest being payable. So choosing a payday loan instead of using a credit card shows they must be desperate.

    Complaint about what exactly?, they won't remove them unless the information is incorrect.
  • When you say 'mortgage adviser', do you mean someone at a bank?

    That person will only have access to products offered by that bank. It is perfectly possible that another lender may be happy to lend to you.

    If so, you need to see an independent mortgage broker. Someone like London & Country? They should know which lenders are happy to consider lending to someone in your situation. Their fees would usually be paid by the mortgage lender.
