Ambiguous address...A nice way for a firm to block

Will keep this as short & to the point as possible, with Scottish Power been with them 3 years plus, last deal was Help Beat Cancer fixed till 31 Jan this year. I got my money saving expert energy club email to remind me my deal was ending, Avro Energy deal was comparable to the SP deal that was ending. I gave them a phone as I couldn't find my flats address on their drop down menu in the quote section of the website, all went well it seemed but then the clanger in the works, my Gas supply address is complete guff and incorrect (Funny how S.P. had no qualms about supplying my "false" address) on the national database and now I need to wait 6 weeks to get this sorted before I can switch to any other supplier. Now I would of put this down to "just my luck" but the exact same thing has happened to a workmate who is also with Scottish Power, for fellow forum members who don't know, the "Gas" side of the national database is the worst for the longevity of "fix" with a minimum of 4 weeks to have the system ammended. I'd say this would be enough to put the average U.K. consumer off switching but they are on to plumbs as I will be moving ASAP!! 16 days on Scottish Powers new fixed price has cost me an extra £20 odd already...scum.

Unsure what your asking mate, the network for this area for gas is maintained by Scottish Gas Networks and the electric is maintained by Scottish Power, the national database is independent from any company but can be amended in cases such as mine by the current supplier if address info is incorrect/missing.
