    And then there is autosave...that you can set to ensure your work is saved in your file every period (that you decide in settings) such as ten or fifteen minutes so that your file is nearly up to date in case of failure or you do not opt to save on exit.


    Whilst you work on a document Word copies it into a temp working file. It is this file that gets saved as you user seen file, or is used in recovery.....that can be done manually (instructions on the web if you must) but can be overwritten when Word opens so care is needed. Settings allow you to specify storage locations of these files which, if you can remember helps to find them in manual recoveries or back them up as specific data backups. Most just use defaults.


    No reason to ensure all methods are used as well as multiple backups!!:T
