using cuprinol 'garden shades' indoors?

I know the tin says for outside use only, but if I ignore that, any reason I can't use cuprinol 'garden shades' indoors? I want to put cladding in the bathroom and paint it with something to give a woodwashed effect. As it is going to be in a damp environment having the preservative or whatever it has in it seems like a plus?
There used to be an internal woodwash paint, probably a decade or so ago when i was last re doing a bathroom, but I cant find anything similar now. So I guess the alternative is a dilute emulsion then varnish or wax to protect but that sounds like a good deal more work!

    I have used it outside and didn't find it particularly smelly. In fact it was less smelly than gloss paint. I don't know why you couldn't use it indoors

    It would contain a biocide you really wouldn't want it in a contained space as its most likely a carcinogen.

    Not sure that you'd even get a wood washed effect. We've used that Cuprinol on a fence and the coverage is pretty solid.

    Have you had a woodwashed effect indoors before? We did a pine bath panel, which was done in a shiplap effect, in a white woodwash. It always looked like we'd put an undercoat on it and forgot to finish it. Eventually I got my OH to agree I could paint over it the same colour as the walls (it annoyed me everytime I looked at it).

    Thank you all. Don't want to poison myself so might have to think again. The lakeland stuff is worth a look although i was hoping to avoid having to varnish.

    Check out OSMO country colours range. Do loads of colours and also suitable for indoor use. Planning to use some myself on some internal bifold doors soon.
