Hi folks,
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit) on my desktop and for a while I've had an issue where the Windows Features program (optionalfeatures.exe) produces a blank list when I run it.
I've found a blog article via a Google search that is meant to help in the majority of cases but unfortunately it doesn't completely help in my case: the blog article is here.
I've posted the resulting log file from the System Update Readiness tool to my own web server here: in the blog comments, at least one other person has asked about this situation but has not received a reply and I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue and found a solution?
Or does anyone have any hints for finding the files listed in the "Checking Packages" section - all the "Windows" ones should be available as Knowledge Base (KB) packages, but the "AMD" ones aren't so easy to find as they could be for the processor or graphics card.
I'm running an AMD A10-5800K APU and AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card so there the AMD packages could be KB or AMD downloads, unless anyone knows any different?

Have you tried re-installing the KB hotfixes listed?
Here's a link to the first one (KB3013410) to get you started. If you reinstall that, reboot and run the SUR tool again, do the errors relating to that hotfix still appear?

I think the "AMD" text in the hotfixes might be a misnomer. AMD introduced 64-bit processors before Intel, so I seem to remember that 64-bit software was sometimes mis-labelled as AMD-64, even though it was not AMD specific.0 -
Thanks for that - I've downloaded all the KB packs listed in the log file and got them ready to install, which I'll do at the weekend when I've got more time, and let you know0
