Asking pip to look at award again

You are in a similar position to me. Unfortunately I only get awards for three years and they review if after two years. Like you my particular problems will never improve but go worse with time. I get the enhanced for care and mobility so no matter how bad I get they can never increase my award.
But yes you do have to keep on proving your case every time it is reviewed. I was warned that the DWP will NOT consider any evidence that is older than twenty four months from when you had the last decision, it seems that they treat all reviews as they were completely new claims. I presume that if you send evidence older than two years in they might think that your problems have changed.
That's not true about the evidence needing to be less than 2 years old. I've sent in evidence older than that on my first claim and my review. Never had any problems with them using it.0 -
Thanks poppy, Are you sure. I read somewhere either on the claim form or the notes that the DWP don't want any evidence sent in that is more than two years old. Maybe it has changed I don't know, but when I filled out the first claim form and the second I made sure that nothing that old was included even though I have medical and social reports going back to 2011 and beyond that they have never seen for that reason.
As an example I did not mention anything about the depression for which I still get prescribed Sertraline for because the last psychiatric assessment was in 2010 and therefor out of date.
Just found it. It is part of the advice given by the CAB when filling in the PIP forms: I saw it when I did the intial research 3 years ago.
You shouldn't send:
the original documents
appointment letters
copies of anything that's more than 2 years old
copies of anything you've already sent to the DWP0 -

I know you're frustrated with the reviews but like i said we're all in the same boat. You don't have to continue, it's your choice. No one is forcing you to do anything.0 -
Thanks Poppy, I know I have options, but part of me wants everyone to be fair and upfront. I thought that CAB was a reputable organisation so followed their advice. I just don't know what is required any more. I know what you are saying makes absolute sense, but when you have the DWP form saying not to send anything in if it's a no change case as well as the CAB what are people supposed to do? Anyhow it is too late now I have the face to face on Friday. My worry at the moment is how I am supposed to get there. The place is an old health centre that closed down in the middle of a disused trading estate way out of town with the nearest bus stop about 200 metres away. It's got to be a taxi as I am having to go alone this time.0

Current PIP form completion info from CAB here

I cannot see anything about two years in it but have only had a quick look
I recognise that you are talking about a while back, though, Danday. Can you link us to what you are talking about so we can see the context. Or give us exactly where you saw it.
I must admit remembering seeing something about two years but not where
Thanks0 -

You will find it on the AR1 form.
Posting link from FOI request, showing in basic format the layout of the form.
Under section 13 Is there anything else you think we should know about your health condition or disability?
Information we don't want to see:.... anything more than 2 years old
(to danday......I agree with poppy...if the evidence is older but still relevant, send it in as long as you clarify why its still valid today) https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=topic&catid=10&id=107467

Cheers.
It was the reference to CAB advice from Danday that I was thinking about. Possibly that was what they/we were saying three years ago when it as a bit newer.0 -
Good Luck for Friday, Danday. Fingers crossed it will be a good few years before you have to go through this ordeal again. Let us know how you get on.0

Thanks Neil,

Under no change they advise no need for evidence, you should carry on with a new award as before.
If there is a change, at the bottom of the page it says not to send any evidence in that is more than 24 months old0 -
Thanks Neil, the CAB review form on the internet is up to date not three years old. I was previously referring to the old PIP notes from the DWP and the advice then on the internet that anything over 24 months would more than likely be out of date.
Hence back in 2013 I sorted out everything relevant that was pre 2011 as not for submission leaving 2012 & 13 to be sent in. That is why I made absolutely no mention about mental health issues as the last report from the consultant in sending me back to the GP was dated 2011. I saw no point in raising the matter as I had no evidence that was current only the repeat prescription list for the medication that the consultant put me on. Likewise for the 2015 re-assessment I kept back all of the reports from the Pain Clinic as they were dated pre 2013.For this review I didn't send anything back with it as it said don't bother.0
