insulation on wall and fitting a built in wardrobe

Options
If we were to put in built in wardrobes, can I add a layer of thin insulation, simply because the bedroom above the garage is really cold. I’m just thinking whether there will be any issues with mould as I intend to just stick/staple a thin layer of insulate to the back of the internal wall before they fit the built in wardrobe. What type of insulation would you recommend? Many thanks.

Do try to get it insulated, something much better will be insulated plasterboard. Otherwise you risk the mould coming through your fitted wardrobe backboard and then ruining your stored items and not to mention a musky damp smell.

Oh come on. You posted already about the cold room. You cannot insulate a room properly without insulating properly. A room with a temperature of 12 degrees is going to be an absolute risk for consendation in wardrobes. Condensation = mould.

The insulation needs to below first, loft to keep the heat in and then walls. Some celotex on the external walls perhaps. Buy cheap, pay dear though. Cold from any direction is going to be cold.

Thanks, I've worked out that we will replace the garage door for a better seal and insulated doors

    That won’t solve your problem.
