Anyone use ppi wise for a claim?

Has anyone used ppi wise for a claim, just got a pack through . Was going to use a CMC mainly due to the time aspect and the view that I have quite a lot of historic agreements back to 1990 nothing that I think is relevant after 2005 but no paperwork, I do have account numbers and lenders names.
Anyone have any views, good/bad or indifferent.
thanks

What makes you think it saves time?Anyone have any views, good/bad or indifferent.
I am sure they are very competent at putting a stamp on an envelope and sending it to the same address you use if you were to do it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Not if they had any sense. Honestly, do it yourself, simply phone the bank and ask them.Anyone use ppi wise . . ?0 -
thanks for the replies,
Very time poor, in the fe industry for my sins.
Did try the ringing job a few years back and got the we only keep records 6 years if you have no paperwork, your the unlucky one response, therefore I thought due to the age of the potential claims, pre 2005, that a CMC might look at it, to be honest the fee although not cheap if they recover money is potentially better than my effort so far - which is zero.
just a bit worried over getting involved in case summat might bite by the bum as we go along, especially after reading some of the small print, therefore I haven't signed anything as yet or sent it back.
Seem a bit vague over how it works on the phone when asked for further information.
Hence the question.0 -
No, the CMC would still need you to provide the information which allows them to post your complaint form (which you completed yourself).a CMC might look at it
Your financial data is not in the public domain, you still have to provide it.
So you do all the work, the only input from the CMC is to sticks a stamp on the envelope containing you complaint.0 -

If there were no records a "few years back" they are very unlikely to magically reappear just because a CMC is now involved.walter-white wrote: »...therefore I thought due to the age of the potential claims, pre 2005, that a CMC might look at it, to be honest the fee although not cheap if they recover money is potentially better than my effort so far - which is zero.
The significance of the year 2005 is that brokers who sold PPI prior to that date were not regulated, and therefore have no liability for the mis-sale of PPI.0 -
looks like an exercise in futility then, beware adverts than bear false promises.0
