Plevin claim query - pre 2003

My PPI claim was rejected a few years ago, and I recently claimed for Plevin (commission)
I recently got an offer from the bank, but only from 2003 , as they said they only have records from this date. I had PPI on my account since 1997, so I wanted to go back to the bank to query the amount offered.
I do have most of my old bank statements as evidence, which they ask for.
Has anyone done this, and claimed pre 2003? and was it successful?

This is not about timing but evidence. They have it only going back to 2003. They will use info you have as well as they have. So, supply it to them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
