Microsoft elite controller cost £104 lasted 1 year

Hi. I bought an elite controller in November 2016 and it was £104.
I contacted Microsoft as the controller has started to make movemts on its own.
It has been well looked after and stored in its case etc.
Is it unreasonable to expect it to last more than 14 months?
I am trying to challenge them to either replace or fix rather than wash their hands off it.
They said that as it is out of warranty there is not a thing they can do.
Thanks for your help

Other people have had various issues with the controllers.
For what you paid yes they should last longer than a year.
Well it looks like Amazon have resolved the issue., well for the moment anyway.0 -
No it was Microsoft that I contacted. Had to contact them twice. Guy said I’d receive an email confirming but as of yet no email has come through. Here’s hoping.0

Your contract is with Amazon rather than Microsoft so it is to them you should be complaining.
Looks like you've been lucky and Microsoft have offered to replace but if not forthcoming you should complain to Amazon.0 -

Looking on line it seems MS have provided lots of replacements outside warrantee, so in this case it was the right thing to do.0
