New Job - Late Payroll Loan

Seriously, dont ask your new employer for an advance on your first pay cheque, it doesnt look good.
Ask friends or family, and save some money next time.0 -
Hi guys,
I just want to start by saying a massive THANK YOU for all your feedback and comments. I didn't receive any email alerts yesterday about the replies, so was wondering if I was just going to have to figure it out on my own. Not so it appears
I've also spoken to a very good long term friend who can afford to loan me the money as he has some mortgage transaction money lying dormant for the next couple months, so there is credit available. So to the point about whether I bring it up on Monday, I will not, as its just too risky a conversation to have on my first day.
Regarding the other aspects of the matter;
I'm a London Media Director coming into a pay rise on this role, so respectfully this is quite a lot of money, though the issue would scale with just about any title and comp I feel. Presently I also have short term heavy commitments on my motor insurance (£244/mo as I'm a 1st time driver w/ zero NCB), this has been the main pressure on my cash flow over the past few months, which ends in April. So just to defend myself a little bit, my current situation is difficult but planned and short term.
Regarding the amount of money/time, the real matter is I would only have half a month to make financial commitments for a full month (March) and it felt like I was being pressured down a route that was just because somone was being a bit of a laggard (lazy so-and-so). I would expect there to be some kind of short provisions available for the few numbers of new starters, but I guess not.
The first response, from the HR forum respondee, thanks for saying this as I now better understand/respect the fact that they have these restrictions for a reason, and I am really in no position to make demands of them. I'm going in Monday now with a lot more positive position on things, and I know that to unlock certain doors in my future I need to have a solid relationship with this team.
..
Again, thanks for all your very helpful feedback!
Have a good day guys,0
