it's a good thread rn, with a couple of belters from seacaitch.
my direct equity holdings have taken a bit of a slapping lately, although fortunately from a position of some very strong gains. i'm looking at funds which manage assets cautiously, to sit alongside my other investments, hence looking back at this thread.
a colleague of mine has Ruffer managing things on a discretionary basis for him - the ethos is along the lines of their Total Return fund.
anyone any updated thoughts as to the options in this sector of the market?0 -
I may be taking things off on a tangent, but after so many years of good growth, I wonder if the old school With Profits funds such as PruFund might be worthy of consideration. There's obviously a price to pay for downside protection, but if you stack such a fund up against the equivalent Vanguard LifeStrategy fund, the result is not too bad.anyone any updated thoughts as to the options in this sector of the market?0
