The first picture shows the showhome kitchen, the following two show the kitchen we would have to have, with the white cupboards. Hope this clarifies what I mean a little better.

I quite agree, the second one looks awful.
    It's nothing , not nothink.

I'd be making visible complaints to Bellway via twitter/FB to try and get it resolved. Include your photos in a combined 'What we paid for, what we are being offered' single image, get people you know to share it / comment on it. Will get more traction than a local site manager / salesman dealing with it.

Social media complaints are my first port of call now as soon as a company is out of order, they get picked up quicker by people with more power to do anything about it.

Post on their development FB page as well if there is one.
  • I'm so glad I have read this thread. We are in a very similar position with Bellway i.e. had to go to another site to view a house and have out down a reservation fee but no further than that. I had presumed we would choose the kitchen, flooring etc before we exchange contracts so now I will insist upon it!!

Let us know how you get on. I would be standing outside their sales office with a placard!

It's not just the end panel. The edges of the carcasses are visible around the doors, and are not colour-matched to the doors in the second pic. Same with the kick panels.

I'm not terribly surprised, and it's certainly something that would have been easy to clarify at the time, with hindsight - "Is the upgrade just a door change, or will the carcasses match?". What stage of construction did you reserve at? What exactly did the paperwork say for the upgrade?

There's an easy solution... Tin of paint, brush, an hour. Job jobbed.

You can have the end panels vinyl wrapped to match afterwards if they won!!!8217;t budge on the fitting. The white does break up the solid grey though, matches with the white worktop.
