Hi all just popped over from the Oldstyle board to ask a question. DH thinks he can convert our old desktop pc to wireless with a device that plugs into the usb port. We currently use an ethernet cable.
Can anyone give him a bit of info please? We are in our 60's and not very tech savvy.
Thanks
Gintot

Something like that is what's needed. Edit: SNAP!
The bigger question though is ... why? If it's already connected via Ethernet why do you want to make it WiFi?0 -

Depending on what router and age/speed of computer you may well find that the wireless speeds may not be as good as when you use the ethernet connection.0

Thanks for the info folks. DH wants to reduce the number of wires!

Shame....as wired is always better/quicker than WiFi,is their no way you can fit wire under carpet behind gripper rods/behind skirting board etc0 -

Depends upon distance from Router for wifi as well as quality of router .
My Ethernet connection is 42 meg put that over WiFi to pc and its about 30 meg .0 -
Your other option is a powerline adapter, I've been using one for a few years and its been really solid. Something like:
