DLA after death

I know... weird idea.
My father died eighteen months ago, and HMRC has - just yesterday - finally repaid to his estate an overpayment of income tax made while he was alive.
That leaves only one item outstanding on his Estate Statement, and that is DLA.
DLA is paid in arrears, so at the time of his death he will have been due somewhere between zero and four weeks' worth of the beneift.
Is the notional amount that DWP owed cancelled/voided on death, or ought I to be expecting/chasing a payment?

Did you not notify DWP of your fathers death? If not you should ring them."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Oh yes.
And I expected a long wait for it to be dealt with - as has just ended in the case of HMRC.
I just wondered if anyone is aware of the post-death treatment of outstanding DLA, ie paid to estate (eventually) or cancelled.I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -

It will be paid up to and including the day before your father passed away assuming there was no other reason for his entitlement to end?0 -
Thanks.
No.
I shall chase it up then.I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -

Were you the executor of his will? Was he getting any other benefits or pensions?0 -
I have just had to deal with this for my brother who died in December - we used the "tell us once" service at the registrars office and they notified DWP HMRC etc of the death
still waiting to hear about whether any tax is due to be paid or refunded - but the DLA was calculated and paid into my bank account within 4 weeks of the death notification - I just had to sign the form as the executor of my brothers estate and they paid it directly0 -
Thanks, both.
Yes, I am the executor. Yes, I not only used Tell Us Once, but also dealt directly with most agencies/interested bodies and affected parties.
Everything else is long since done and dusted, except for these few loose ends -
DLA, income tax (received a refund just days ago), and a partial reclaim of LPA fees (going through at the momenr).
Will chase the DLA on Monday.
Thanks again.I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0
