Is this an anomoly or am I now saving money?

I used to have a 32 inch LCD TV with flourescent backlight and now I have a 49 inch 4K LED TV which I have had for a week.
I read my meter every week and I normally use 9 - 10 kWh of electricity a day.
After puting my readings into my spreadsheet for the past week I have used an average of 7 kWh of electricity a day.
Is my new TV really using 2 kWh less electricity a day than my old one?
The TV is on for at least 12 hours a day.

Its probably using around 1kWh per day less than the old one with 12 hours on time.
The power consumption of the TV should be noted on a label on the back somewhere what does yours say on the new and old TVs?
I would guess the new one is around 70W and the old one around 140W. A difference of 70W. Therefore over 12 hours the difference in energy consumption would be 0.84kWh.0 -
Also, LEDs are usually more efficient than fluorescent backlights so your new larger screen size television may well be using less electricity than your smaller one!0

Correct, I just raked out my energy monitor and my 49 inch TV is just using 38 watts compared to my old 32 inch which used 70 watts.
My Sky box is using more at 45 watts.over 73 but not over the hill.0 -

The real money saver would be to ditch Sky TV as that is where the real cash drain is0 -

Don't forget the new tv will be putting about 1KWh less heat into the house than the old one, so in the winter, expect the heating bill to go up very slightly now0

These new Tv's normal have a ECO setting but if you are only using 38w maybe its already set.0
