  • Has the valuation actually been done?
On the progress of my application I had "A valuation has been instructed".
7 days later "Physical Valuation not required"

Depends on timescales I suppose. if you look on the waiting to exchange thread, someone has just posted that they had a mortgage offer 2 days after valuation.

If you havent had a homebuyers done, a valuation report should be fairly light. We had a homebuyers done last week on Thursday, got the report same day - we booked this independent. nationwide did the valuation today, so we are hoping to hear early next week - our broker says he has been told it is approved subject to valuation.
  • Just phoned. they saying valuation to be assessed will take 5 days!

Perhaps that is UP TO 5 days. As I said you will see people in the mortgage approval post getting it far quicker, and their own website says:

Step 2 - Valuation of property and approval of application
    Valuation of the property
Within 3 days of receiving your mortgage application, we'll request a valuation of the property. It can take up to 2 weeks for the valuation to take place, and once completed, the valuation will be reviewed within 48 hours of receipt. You may also choose to have a Homebuyers Report or full structural survey completed as well.

Once we've received your valuation documents, we can approve your mortgage application

They might also be including Sat and Sun as non working days

Are you applying direct or via a broker? Our broker has told us Nationwide have advised its fully approved just pending valuation.
  • via broker. For some reason they saying it will take 5 days! and there may be another day for final checks. Cant cope the waiting
  • Afternoon,

In a very similar position regarding timescales with Nationwide. Looks like we’re at the same stage. I had a text in Tuesday last week to confirm valuation booked for 20th Feb and they will also complete Home Buyers report. Anxious wait now.

We had our valuation sat morning, text to say repost recwivwd 6pm, called today and they said should know within 3 days so wed at latest
  • Hi I have also applied with nationwide. We found a house we liked in October and applied however after valuation got downgraded the vendor said he wouldn't budge. However he came back to us in Jan and said he would accept the lower price. We sent off out full application to nationwide on the 29th January and had the valuation transfer over. Received a text in the 14 February to say valuation received and accepted. But heard nothing since, our broker said when she phoned them they are running behind by up to 3 days. So frustrating when all I want is a yes or no. Driving me potty lol..
