If you need to drive in winter conditions it might be worth while sticking to premium tyres, but buying Michelin CrossClimate instead of Continental? The summer tyre performance is only slightly compromised, but the grip on snow and ice is greatly improved compared to a regular summer tyre.

Noice or noise ratings are very low on the decision tree if safety is your concern, as is economy. As said previously, tyres are the only thing in contact with the road.
