Replacing this Tap

Hi, how do I replace this tap head?
As you can see I've removed the top cap but can't see how the unit itself is removed.
I think I have to prise it off somehow but am worried I might break it. I haven't yet got the replacement part.

I tried posting the image from imgur but the MSE site won't allow me to do that.
So, how do I post the image via a 3rd party site?0 -

Should just pull off now you've removed the screw. Be careful as it may be old and brittle.0

That looks like it "just" pulls off. Having said that, it is probably held on by the "gunk" all around it. Try rocking the handle side to side whilst imparting a lifting force. It is likely held on splines, so once it is off there will be a hex nut to undo. See this link for details. See the splines on the spindle.0

Agreed. The handle can be very tight to pull off. WD40 down the hole in the middle might help. As might wrapping a cloth soaked in hot water round the handle to try to expand it a bit. Also try tapping (just tapping though) with a piece of wood or similar. A hammer will mark the chrome.0
