Card refund not showing as a pending transaction

I recently bought some furniture at Aldi which was faulty when unboxed. I took it back for a refund in store. Upon checking the refund receipt, I realised that they had debited my card AGAIN for the amount they were meant to be refunding me. A manager came over to sort the mess out, and refunded my card for both the original amount and the mistaken extra debit. I have the refund receipt and all appears fine.

I've checked my pending transactions on my bank card and the mistaken debit is listed as a pending transaction, but the refund transaction is not. Should I be worried? Or does the refund take longer to show up as a pending transaction?

I'm not sure Ive ever seen a refund as a pending amount, only a debit.
