Mixer Tap Moves in Sink

I have a problem with my bathroom sink I need some advice on. We have a mixer tap in the sink and over time the plastic washer/fixing that held the tap in the sink has perished.

The tap is now free to move in the hole in the sink and makes a noise. Is there a way to replace the fixing without dismantling the tap (mechanism to close the plug etc).

I've looked at it and cant for the life of me see how to do it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

No, you are going to have to turn off the water, disconnect the (flexible) feeds to the tap then unscrew the lock nut so you can remove the whole tap. Unless of course you can find/buy/make a split washer then it is "just" a case of removing the old one, loosening the lock nut, slip the new washer in (maybe with a bit of sealant) and then tighten the lock nut again.
