First claim - not sure

Hi, I could really do with some advice please.
I got a credit card with HSBC many years ago, paid it off and a couple of years later got another card with them.
Even though I didn’t think I had any, they have confirmed I had PPI insurance and as I was a temporary worker at the time I’m not sure I would have been covered so it might have been missold.
I remember a conversation with someone in the branch and said I didn’t want PPI but I can’t remember whether this was for the first card or the second and I don’t want to put the wrong information on the complaint form.
Perhaps if I knew whether the card I had ppi on was online or through the branch might help but I don’t have the paperwork
What should I do?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated

  • Answer honestly.

If you don't remember or aren't sure, say so.
  • If you were a temporary worker - your case holds strong.

Could your agency have let you go at any point?
Could your agency have guaranteed work in any given week?
How long had you been working as a temporary worker?
How many times did you get your contract extended?
Could you have left without giving a notice period?

Ultimately, just be truthful in your questionnaire..it could be that the bank will "automatically uphold" your concern as you fall into a specific cohort or time period when they knew there were flaws in their sales processes.
  • You may have had PPI Insurance but this does not necessarily mean that you actually paid any PPI. If you paid your credit card off in full every month no PPI would have been charged.
