Creases in carpet.

Options
So I've just had heating installed, that involved taking up the carpet to install pipes under the floorboards.

Unfortunately I made the mistake of leaving the carpet folded in half, while the floorboards where being worked on. So they where folded for 48 hours.

They now have creases in them. The carpet installer said to leave them for a week flat, he'll then come round and stretch/fit them. But he emphasized that it might not totally get rid of the creases, maybe normal wear and tear will.

The carpet manufacturer seem to think that they will be ok but they themselves are not installers. The carpets are Comcar primo plus synthetic carpets.

Experience and opinions appreciated.

Creases will normally settle down, but it depends how harshly it was bent. All you can really do it wait a week and see.
  • I left mine folded for longer and after 4 months you can still slightly see them. They are wool carpets so heavy.

I would think yours would come out in a lot short time.

No, you made the mistake of laying carpet before installing the heating.
