Thanks. have already checked Hoseasons, for the dates we want Cumbria starts at £299 or North Yorkshire which we prefer starts at £412 a bit expensive for 2 nights,
  • Heron Lakes, Dacre, Yellowtop Country Park are good in Yorkshire for lodges with hot tubs.

Looks really nice there, but only available to book for 3 nights-we can only do 2 . but price wise a bit over budget at £480

Which 2 nights, Friday - Saturday or can you go midweek? For how many people?

As soon as you want flexibility you will pay more as the cleaning and servicing costs increase.

It may be cheaper to book a hotel.

I understand that Cleaning etc is the same whether 2 nights or 2 weeks. but can't justify spending so much on 2 nights.
Can't be flexible on dates its a birthday treat and have the chance to have 2 child free nights.
Don't want a hotel but thanks for the suggestion.
