Can you pay Barclaycard early?

Is it possible to pay off a Barclay card before the statement is out? As a example, my card currently has a £0 balance, if I made a £300 purchase today, would I be able to login tomorrow and pay it off in full or would I have to wait for the statement to be generated?

    Yes you can.
  • You can pay whenever you want.
  • It might not show as an active account on your credit report.
  • Wow thanks everyone, talk about fast replies. If it may not show up as active on my credit report is it best to wait for the statement?
  • You can once the transaction is on your electronic statement and not just showing as 'pending'. The payment is normally applied within 2 hours and can be spent again.

If you are not doing this to free up more available credit for another purchase i would wait until your monthly statement is generated that way a balance is recorded on your history other than just £0.
  • You can yes.

But then you might as well just use your debit card and pay for it.

Dont just chuck your statement in the bin. Open it check its zero balance. Burn or shred it

Except no S75 protection if you pay by debit card.

Yes. Wait until the statement is produced.

Otherwise your statement balance will be shown as £0 on your credit reports.

    True

So in that case wait for the statement then pay it off
