changing tenants in common percentage

I currently own a BTL property with my partner as tenants in common. The split is currently 99/1. I want to change this to 50/50 so we pay equal tax on the income and in the future can make use of both CGT allowances. Can I simply send a form JO to the land registry with an accompanying letter or is it more complicated than that?
