Cascade Financial aka National Parking Control

There is a seriously dodgy Cascade Financial Notice to Driver floating around. It appears to claim that additional costs of up to £310 will be added if the NTD is not paid.

Anyone got an example?

We've only come across this outfit once (about three years ago). They're definitely at the John Wayne end of the cowboy spectrum (to paraphrase Sir Greg Knight).

They even went as far as sending us a POPLA evidence pack. This included a picture of one of their signs which stated that if the Parking Charge of £100 remained unpaid it would increase to a maximum of £385.

Unfortunately their evidence pack did not include details of any Notice to Driver. However, their covering letter to the POPLA evidence pack did advise us that if our "appeal" was rejected by POPLA we would no longer have the option to pay the "discounted" cost of £100 and the parking charge would be at the "full cost" of £135.

This was one of our POPLA cases that London Councils did not get round to deciding. It was passed on to Wright Hassall ("WHOPLA") who inexplicably determined that the PCN had been issued correctly and disallowed our "appeal".

We've not heard from Cascade since - which is a shame because if this case ever did go to Court we would make a claim against Wright Hassall for their professional negligence.

Yes but someone is issuing tickets with the £310 threat since they can't get Keeper details. Needs stamping on.

At that price surely even the most gullible would seek help. Were the DM to find anyone who has paid, the PPC would really be in the thrupny bit.
