Dodgy text messages which cost

The guy I care for received these messages.

Surely this needs to be reported? O2 allows companies to take to money without authority??

As far as O2 are concerned, they will have received authority.

Normally this is provided by the end user by way of an initial text message to initiate an MO (mobile originated) premium SMS ..

Something has gone wrong with this companies system (technical problems happen fromt ime to time), wether it has been generating these messages in error, or interpreting the incoming messages incorrectly i dont know) but this has lead in this case to the wrong mobile number being charged.

The company have now realised this and are refunding you

He'll have inadvertently agreed to it so authority will have been given, albeit without realising.
