Moving house
We are moving house on Friday so need to give final meeting readings to Scottish Power. However, on their online form, they ask for the new address and how we would like to pay for future bills. The new house is currently on a pre-payment meter (possibly a smart meter) with Utilita. Will Scottish Power just transfer across or not?
Thanks

That question is so that they can send your final bill to you for your current property.
When you "complete" your purchase of your new house, you will be on a "Deemed Contract" with the current supplier there.
Make sure you take meter readings on day of completion for your new home, including taking a photo of them for backup, and contact Utilita, with the readings.
You can then switch to another supplier, if you want to, but will have a contract with Utilita until a new supplier takes over.
When looking for a new supplier, bear in mind that a number now offer "Friends & Family" referral credits, that help to reduce your overall cost.0 -
As soon as you leave Utilita, their meter will be rendered "dumb " . It can only be used in smart prepayment meter mode by a few cash strapped suppliers, Ovo, Spark, Eon , First Utility who purchased this meter for smart meter use duties .Other suppliers can use it as "credit " meter.
Button 9 will get you to the total Kwh screen for you to get your end reading for a new supplier .First 7 digits are used for the total kwh and not the 8 th digit after the decimal point.0
