Change password message for this site

Last week I got a message asking me to change my password for this site, a bit annoying but as it was quite old I could perhaps see the reasoning, this morning I try and get on the site and get a message 'Your password is 5 days old and therefore out of date' So I had no choice but to change my password yet again as there is no option to skip this. !!!!!!, is MSE seriously saying everyone should change passwords every 5 days? whilst i understand the necessity for changing passwords, but every 5 days, come on? I like I suspect many other have enough trouble remembering lots of different passwords as it is without having to change them every 5 days.

same things just happened to me. had to change my password again as it's 5 days old!!

The bizarre thing is that you can 'change' the password to exactly the same one, but every 5 days is definitely annoying.

Shhh, don't tell them that, there's probably some spotty nerd with no mates on the team doing this because he was bullied at school.

Yes, my password is 5 days old. Wondered if perhaps I should have a birthday party for it?:D

I wonder if MSE is getting hacked. There is a longer running thread on the subject following the first password change request 5 days ago.

Just had to change mine as well if this is the new system will have to give up posting on here.

The joy of this new password request is that I was able to revert to the password I always had on MSE and hadn't wanted to change in the first place
