Omitting "Win a ..." would save a few characters.

It would have to be an extraordinary prize if a couple of characters for FB, TW, RC, GL etc didn't allow at the least the gist of the prize in the title (if need be just drop the "win")
  • I've gone for the actual prize, generally if it's a prize I want to win it doesn't matter to me what type of comp it is and as a rule if it's in the body of the thread if I hover over the title I can see a bit more info without clicking
  • Would be nice TW/ FB/RA/IN/GL(gleam)/WS (website) at the start then end date like 02/02 missing the year off then the prize.
    Jan Wins: .

Never going to happen - that would break the forum for all people who sort by end date.
  • Went for actual prize. Don't really care about the entry method if it's something i want to win, i'll enter regardless of method.

There should also be some guidance on people making sure the thread title explains what the prize is - sometimes a copy/paste from the promoter's page gives a title that means nothing.

    I think FB/TW/GL/RC are essential.

E: 28/02 Win a Fish Slice (FB, IG, TW)
    E: 28/02 FishSlice-FBIGTW ....... . . . . . . ....is 13 characters shorter

The bit I am finding most annoying is copying titles from previous comps that are now too long, or having to edit something in an old comp with a long title which now requires a shorter title to be created.

Don't much care about entry type, though useful in the title, I enter on basis of prize.

I think prize is more important. If its a prize I want but then it requires effort i'm not willing to do, I just close it. I enter a lot of twitter comps but only for stuff I want or can give to someone. I would rather see something like "E: 01/01 Win baby clothes" than "E: 01/01 win clothes (TW/FB/IG)" but I guess its entirely down to the person posting the competitions.
