Beware data leaks from lottery company

I know it isn't a proper money saving activity, but a relative subscribes (soon to be past tense) to the peoples postcode lottery. To his horror, he recently received an open postcard wishing him a Happy Birthday. This clearly and openly showed several key pieces of information that we are constantly being told to keep private as identity fraud relies on this kind of lapse - name, address, date of birth and at least 1 DD (as that is the only way they operate). Given he NEVER authorises use of his data for marketing etc and their usual correspondence is by email he was horrified. He has demanded an apology, but is also considering cancelling his subscription so that that piece of data becomes irrelevant. NB. He has given me permission to try to warn as many people as possible to be aware of their actions and make themselves safe.:mad:
 working my way to financial freedom
