Goldfish

Having successfully reclaimed charges from Lloydstsb, am having a go with MSDW, their first offer was the difference between the £20 default fee & £12 fee which they introduced a few mths ago - I refused & threatened court. I've now had an offer which covers all the £20 fees on the account but none of the new £12 fees (which add up to £108). I'm a bit stuck now - I don't know whether to accept their 2nd offer (£500) or write back asking for the extra £108 as well. I guess they are offering as little as possible in the hope that people will give up, I must admit I'm tempted to take their offer of £500 to save dragging it out any longer & then I guess I could start another claim against them for the £108. Anyone got any suggestions or been in a similar situation?

My OH got exactly the same letter today and it seems to be after the third letter like you too.
But since his claim was for £580 we've decided to take it so I'm afraid I can't be any help to you unfortunately.
    Sorry!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
  • Hi thanks for your reply - had a think about it & have decided to accept, mainly because I've a few other ongoing claims & am getting bogged down with paperwork & this offer from MSDW will come in handy to pay court fees for the others I'm chasing.
Thanks also to Martin & all the other moneysavers, this site has proved invaluable - A BIG THANKS guys x :D

I have received an offer from Goldfish - £192. I'm claiming for £580 (including interest). They quote charges have been dropped to £12 from £20 and they don't consider charges on my account to be unfair and don't recognice my charging interet. What do I do now?

proceed with MCOL the rest of the money is yours. Use the £192 to pay the online cost, and get the rest back asap. Its very easy, just make sure you tell them you accept their offer only as partial payment and you will be pursuing them fior the rest.

Not really related, but kind of...

I emailed goldfish and asked for a list of charges, I've not had a reply. How long did you have to wait for them to send the list to you? I was thinking of phoning to chivvy them along.

Good luck with getting the rest by the way, from what I've read on here you can't lose on the credit card claims!

If you've already given them notice of your intention to take the matter to court, file the claim.
  • Just started the process of trying to claim back those small amounts of insurance premiums that were always added to my monthly bill. Goldfish are asking for a £10 fee to release my info- is this normal?? ps I closed the account back in August. thankyou if you can help
