Parking Ticket for Parking in Season Ticket Space

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone can help!

There is a car park in town, half of it is pay and display and the other half is season holders only. There are signs and on the ground and on the ticket machine. My gran parked here and as she is elderly clearly didn't understand! :T

She bought a standard pay and display ticket and received a PCN on her car.

Is there any point in me appealing it, if so would anyone be able to help?

Thanks so much!

Yes it's worth appealing. Use the template from the NEWBIES thread exactly as it appears. Appeal as keeper and don't reveal the driver's identity.

What is the name of the parking company please.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D
    All my screwdrivers are cordless.

Remember to appeal in your Gran's name not your own.

I haven’t seen this thread? Have you got a link at all? It was by the council (Chichester)

    Edit - a Council PCN?

You never said that until now, a real penalty then?

Easy enough to appeal, but use pepipoo forum (NO HOTMAIL EMAILS):

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

In that case you need to take this over to our friends on pepipoo.com as they are the council parking experts.
Sign up with a non-Hotmail email address, and read the FAQs before posting both sides of the (redacted) penalty notice.

We tend to specialise only in private parking issues here on MSE, but you should have seen the NEWBIES thread before you posted, as it was just underneath the New Thread button, and asked you to read it before posting.

You will know where to come next time if anyone you know gets a private parking ticket in the future.

I took it to them and had a few replies saying to appeal but nothing actually helpful :(

I only have a few days left before it doubles in amount. Can anyone help me at all?

You will get best advice at pepipoo

As already advised this forum majors on private parking invoices and not proper council tickets.

Post your plea for more advice there
  • kodiplod Just write an honest description of what happened and that your gran simply misread the signs, I did that for my stepmum and she got off a similar mistake in Worthing.
Make sure you send a note from your gran asking that you be allowed to deal with this for her.
Councils are not like private parking companies and will read letters sent to them.

This is hardly rocket science, you just follow the guidance on the ticket or their website.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

You seem to be expecting someone to write a letter for you.

Post #7 over there gave you good guidance, as did post #24.

People will lose interest if you can't be bothered to post good images.
A picture of a crinkled parking ticket posted sideways is not the way to garner interest.

    Help others to help you.
