MSE News: Tesco takes payments months later

One other thought, how the hell have Tesco gotten my name and address details from my contactless debit card purchase to enable them to write to me? Surely if I make a contactless card payment the vendor shouldn't be able to get my home address from that?
I think i'm actually more concerned about that than I am about the fact they've just taken over 100 quid almost three months after I bought the goods
Did you use your clubcard for the transaction too? I assumed that that is why they have only told some of those affected. But then we know what assume did don't we?0 -

Yes, I phoned up again and had confirmation that only those who used clubcard have been notified.
Whole thing is a bit of a fiasco as when I phoned up first time I got told a whole list of transactions that were affected.
When I phoned second time I asked for them to confirm the transactions they had outstanding for me and when they would be collected.
Got told a completely different list of transactions for a completely different value.
So far they have collected 2 payments so I have no idea how many more are outstanding, when they will be collected or if the first listor second list I was given is actually the correct one.0 -
I've had a smililar issue recently with a different retailer. I have a Halifax MasterCard which I only used abroad. I went on holiday in September and once back didn't use my card again and paid my September statement which I thought included all my transactions. I checked my October statement but then didn't look again for several months as I hadn't used the card. Then last month I loooked at the statement and was surprised to see an outstanding balance. When I looked through the statements there was one transaction that was charged to my account in November, 2 months after the transaction date. I dont understand what could have happened as there was another transaction from the same retailer that appeared on the bill straight away in September. It was only about £15 but means I have been charged interest and could affect my credit rating as I didn't pay the bill. Obviously I should check the statements each month but as I hadn't used the card I didn't think it necessary - maybe I should go back to paper statements as then I would just open them and have a look but when you have to log on to a website you use so rarely it's not so easy.:(0
