What is shown on a estate agent check?

But it says they carry out credit checks?
If that's the case why did my one on mudhut come back as high risk if they can't see my credit score.
Can they see what I'm paying luke what loans I have already etc is that available to see?
Just confused as how mudhut one worked.
Funnily enough the letting agents I use will be using homelet but it says they do credt checks so I'm assuming they can see what loans I have etc
Seriously. If I can pass the checks, and you have no CCJs etc as discussed earlier on the thread, all your references etc will be fine (so no conflicting info), you're on the electoral roll and you can afford the rent, then you will be fine. Out of interest, who are the estate agents?0 -

Indeed mudhut will have checked your public credit files but your public credit file is not the only thing used to reference you. How does the rent compare to your income? Are you in full time employment or do you have zero hours contract? What kind of references have previous landlords given you? Are you on the electoral register?0 -
From mudhut's own website:
A Mudhut Tenant Credit Check Includes:
Identity Check
Comprehensively validate the identity of a tenant, including:
Residency - Electoral Roll, credit agreements, BT telephone and court data
Identity - Electoral Roll, credit agreements, BT telephone
Alerts - HM Treasury Sanctions, Senior Political Figures, OFAC and deceased check
Credit Report and Score
Credit score** - numerical score indicating the credit worthiness of the tenant
Aliases - names identified as aliases
Associates - details of financial associates
Electoral Roll - details of the tenant and associates on the electoral roll
Adverse Data - details of any bankruptcies, insolvencies or County Court Judgements
Previous Addresses - checks on linked addresses such as previous addresses
**This is a credit score that mudhut make up for you based on the criteria listed above where you are scored out of 500. Equifax (the credit reference agency mudhut uses) score people out of 700 so it's not the same score because there is no such thing as a universal credit score and nobody can see the credit scores made up by the credit reference agencies except for you.0 -
Mudhut never asked for rent amount etc
as I just did a check myself as a tenant.
Maybe homelet will be OK.
If they use equifax experian etc does your normal borrowing etc play a part in the score giving to be able to rent or is it only based off ccjs income etc.
Like if they used experian the in depth one would experian mark it down as unworthy due to owing money or would it be made up of other stuff.0 -
I give up :wall:0

I got an email back from mudhut saying the score is made up of any ccjs etc but also past credit history and is provided by equifax.
As I don't have any ccjs or iva etc the only possible way to explain the low score is that equifax used my actual credit score and loans I have to make up the 500 score that mudhut uses?
There is no other reason it would come out high risk0 -

As Pixie explained (except the bit about having their own database) - THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THAT DATA.0 -
OK will just go for it then and see what happens just looked at my clearscore one on the positives it says
No court or insolvency data
No accounts in default or repossession
On electoral roll for long time
Held one of my accounts for several years
Very few/no accounts in arrears
Your current telecoms balance is very low.
So from that. It all seems OK to go ahead without worrying.
I take it on the forms I just put no adverse history even though the credit score is low.
And the negative bit on my report is relatively high percent of credit used on cards etc.
But this is going down I owed 10k 3 months ago now down to 8. So score should reflect eventually.0 -
What private information could they hold them self's then? Can only be from prior rents and landlords etc?0
