12v GU10's, change for LED's?

Our kitchen has 20 GU10 bulbs in the ceiling, they are 12v 20W lamps, a very warm yellow colour and about 4" along the cable to the holder is a clip, am i guessing where its connected to one of 20 small transformers? The lamps have 2 small pin connectors, not the usual 'twist lock' ones with normal GU10 lamps

Can I replace all the GU10s easily for either LED's, or other lamps as we prefer cool white (600k or higher)

2 small pins will be MR16 bulbs not GU10

I was advised I was better off replacing extra low voltage MR16 spots and the transformers for GU10 mains voltage fittings, giving you lots more options LED wise. I fitted some Aurora Enlites.

GU10s would be 240v so you would need to remove the transformers and wire new GU10 directly. You will most likely need new fittings too if the current MR16 ones won!!!8217;t take GU10.
Yes plenty of options with GU10, even those tuneable bulbs you can adjust by remote control or from your phone.
You can get GU5.3 12v LED for a direct swap but you have less options for colour and they may not be dimmable.

12V transformers designed for halogen lights may well not work with LEDs - the transformer circuitry can get confused by the very low power draw and shut down. You would need transformers designed for LEDs.

Agree with the others that removing the 12V wiring and going for 240V bulbs would be better.

Taking the 12v transformers out the equation is easy enough to do. I replaced all mine for GU10 LED's. The bulbs last much longer, not sure about running costs though as it's not something I sit down and work out.
