My 25 September Cap1 statement totals £478.82. It was due to be paid in full by DD yesterday. However, the amount collected was only £338.40. The difference is £140.42, which is a refund on 10 October.
It says about this scenario in the proverbial T&C's and on the printed statement itself. Fair enough, I suppose, even though the example quoted is a payment by me, not a refund by a previous payee.
However, this means that my September bill has been underpaid, and therefore interest should be due on this underpayment until everything sorts itself out when my October bill's DD is taken (on or around 16 November)?
I will, of course, ring them to see what they say (I bet it will be that everything is OK), but unfortunately you cannot guarantee that whatever you are told is accurate.

The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
