Feb money shuffle done! Also now had email confirmation from CC3 that it's been closed, so that chapter is officially over.
Now for the standard plod through the month trying to magic up the occasional overpayment to help banish CC4. There's a little bit building up on Prolific and the food budget is looking really healthy this month, so I may be able to squeeze another £25 or so out of that, but I'll do my best to leave it until a few days before Feb payday just to be sure, and try to keep my energies on house improvements rather than spreadsheet-watching for the next few weeks . Side hustle work is showing signs of appearing this month so that might help with the drip feed.
Really appreciated a brief interlude of bright sunshine this morning and managed to get outside and shove my face in it for a while.

It feels like an exceptionally spendy time here. All of the things I've bought this week have been planned and had funds allocated to them from various pots, but with personal spends on stuff coming in on average under £50/month over the last couple of years, to have dropped nearly £150 in a week on things that aren't groceries feels almost comically decadent! I know for some that's a miniscule amount, but when you're way past the point of buying stuff for the sake of having stuff, and travel and events (which were always my Achilles heel) are completely out of the equation it's a whole different picture. The only big ticket thing I'm going to need for myself at some point over the next couple of years is a replacement computer, hopefully later rather than sooner though.
Less than £20 of the £150 has been what I would call personal spending. The rest has been planned replacements for worn-out/broken household things, and items we need to get the garden ready for spring. We're getting prepared to grow quite a lot of our own veg this year. and at the stage of doing a lot of planting (plants as well as veg). Unless something goes awry though, I'm expecting the rest of the month to be made up of NSDs barring any grocery shopping we need to do, and the budget doesn't look like it's going to come unglued.
I'm not working this morning so I'm concentrating on getting as much done around the house as I can, and maybe fitting in a bit more painting, as once things start turning up I'll be prepping the garden as much as the weather allows.Debt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 241 -
Excellent productive day so far here - before work I sorted out the contents of parcels to send to three friends, did a load of recycling, listed some furniture on Marketplace and a few small bits on eB4y (one bid already), sorted out an Amaz$n return (£7.99 refund due) and started to get together a pile of odds & ends to send pictures to a 'buy anything' site advertised on social media to see whether they'll offer anything. At lunchtime I got got out into the garden and did a solid chunk of digging - with rain and snow forecast over the next few days it might be the only chance I get for a while! Oh, and I did some proper work, too
Quick teabreak now before what is hopefully the last meeting of the day, followed by some side hustle work this evening and nipping out for a few top-up groceries. I should sleep well tonight

Two steps forwards one step back - just had an ebay message about an item I sold in December that apparently hasn't been received. I think I may have already ditched the proof of posting certificate, as generally if something doesn't show up it doesn't take the buyer two months to tell you, and I was on a bit of a shredding frenzy this weekend
So I guess all I can do if I can't find it is issue a refund - £9.20 including postage. A minor annoyance I could have done without! On the plus side I've sold two more items which will make up for the loss (and in future will try to remember to keep receipts until I have feedback).
In non-financial terms things are chugging along - more painting, and another bin bag of decluttering. I should be able to fit in a post office run tomorrow so that will be an extra chunk of stuff out of the house.Debt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 240 -

We had somebody try to tell us they hadn't received an item 2 months after the purchase. Asked Ebay to look into it and they confirmed it had been received.
