Highview - help with argument

This forum is fantastic. I have had a look at the guides and sticky messages but just wanted to double check the best way to proceed.

I have received a notice from Highview Parking about overstaying I presume by 29 minutes in a retail car park. This was a Thursday afternoon prior to Christmas and I don't have receipts but I have a bank statement that shows that I spent over £250 in numerous shops plus refreshments in the local Costa which cash was paid for.

What I am a bit confused about is making reference in the template letters regarding the registered keeper and not using a reference to "I" but if I talk about receipts etc then I am talking about "I". Sorry just a little confused as to how to play this?

Any advice you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Karen

as KEEPER you were an occupant of the vehicle , assume that I was driving that day

as an occupant of the vehicle and a valid shopper , you can use the template but add that as keeper you were a patron of the shops on site etc and are enclosing COPIES of receipts (and/or bank statements) showing proof of purchase

NEVER admit to who was driving UNLESS there is a compelling reason for doing so

they should cancel, if they dont , complain to the retailer and appeal to POPLA

what happened on the day was down to the DRIVER

what happened since that day has happened to the KEEPER (you)

How many seats in your car?

Could it be possible for someone not sitting in the driver's seat to have spent £250 on that day?

In other words, perhaps the middle part of your second paragraph should look something like:
...but I have a bank statement that shows that an occupant of the car spent over £250 in numerous shops...

    Please edit your post accordingly.
  • Thank you both - I have kept it very neutral and sent a screen shot of my online banking after cropping all personal info out.

Fingers crossed that it gets thrown out at this stage rather than having to go down the POPLA route.

    Many thanks.

You ask how to ensure the driver is not identified, yet reveal who was driving in your OP

Edit to remove details of who was driving

Make sure that you complain vigorously to all the retailers (shop AND head office) you visited that day and tell them you may well be returning the items purchased that day as they are now to ££££

    good luck

Are you actually in time to appeal a PCN about a pre-Christmas event? What date is on the NTK?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
