Credit Cards paid. What now!!?

Hi all

I have just paid off all my cards (finally!!) and was about to cut them up (Egg, sainsburys, barclaycard and HSBC). They don't have any 0% but they do have over 20k of credit limit. The LAST thing i want to do is run them up again but is there any way i can utilise what i have? I am very confident i can manage them correctly in paying off the totals without incurring any interest but is buying everything on them and paying it off 6-7 weeks later really going to add pennies to my coffers. Stoozing isn't an option on these is it? Any ideas you all have would be gratefully received.....Or do i get the scissors now!!

Thanks in advance

  • At the moment i have 4 CC's one i use all the time and religously pay off ( American Express Nectar). I find that my monthy bill usually comes too betwwen 800- 1000 a month ...this is practically all our monthly spending. Food and Petrol with little bits in between. The only problem i find are places that do not accept AE which then means us using our regular account.
Our other CC's are with IF , Tesco and Barclaycard. The IF card is on a low % which i have around 2k left to pay, the Tesco has around £800 left to clear and the BC just around £75.

I do find managing the AECC managable jus as long as you are strict with yourself and know what you are spending. i
    Come on Ilson ....:footie:

Thanks for the advice guys. I will choose one to make all my payments on for 6 months and see how it goes. I will try the blag as well but i will wait a month or two to show them that the credit isn't rising again first!. I love a good haggle. I will let you know how it goes!
