Exactly. But on the other end of this loony scale who can forget Liz Truss, appointed Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor in 2016. She had no legal experience or qualification.
Her replacement, David Lidington, wasn't a legal professional, either - although his replacement, David Gauke, is... But he was previously in the Treasury, and isn't an accountant or economist or banker or finance professional - and nor is the current Chancellor. Nor was his predecessor, or, or... The last economist and banker in No11 was Lamont.0 -
Absolutely. During David Cameron's government approx 80% of his cabinet went to public school. One couldn't be criticised for believing that a successful cabinet job required a private education. Not sure what the stats are now however.0

This is a VERY HOT TOPIC now. There is an argument that the new Ministry of Justice reforms on personal injury claims are ‘captive’ to the interests of insurers. Only 2 days ago David Parkin, deputy director for civil justice and law at the MoJ, denired this: https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/news/moj-chief-denies-whiplash-portal-is-in-hock-to-insurers/5069235.article
There is a strong political argument that the current coalition government has been actively lobbied by the big insurers over the past decade to make it harder to claim injury compensation
"Very hot topic" and "current coalition government". Shurely shome mishtake?0 -

I refer you to post number 5 in this thread:Ebe_Scrooge wrote: »He was just telling a bare-faced lie - as I say, they're all utter scum-bags. I regularly get calls from them about the compensation I can claim for my accident. Despite the fact that I can honestly say I've never never been involved in an accident in my life.0 -

Read the thread that you've posted on.
If you've got a genuine claim for financial loss then do it by the book and go through your insurance company. Ignore the parasitic wombles that phone you up out of the blue.0
