Can't respond, there's no option for: none.

Never had the spare cash/companion to have the oomph to go anywhere.
    Solo travel is uplifting.

    That said, so is cash.

Typically, these are countries in the world.

    http://www.un.org/en/member-states/

A country would have its own passport, an ISO2 code (e.g. GB for United Kingdom etc.), an internet domain (e.g. im for Isle of Man).

So, all EU countries qualify as independent countries. But US states do not qualify as independent countries.

The poll is just for fun.

You can create a map of your visited countries here.

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

It might be a stretch to make Isle of Wight a nation!

Maybe, but no question about Yorkshire!

Remember that the Isle of Wight is significantly larger than the Seychelles, which has had its own government and passport since 1977 and even runs a national airline. (In case anyone points out that the Seychelles is 92 islands, if you add them all together you still get a smaller surface area...)

That it has an overinflated opinion of itself?

So, I've counted it up and I've been to 20. However, I've also been to 17 different American states.

I've been on a load of cruises, so that instantly 'ticks' lots of different destinations off in a week or two. One trip to be Caribean and you can see a different nation every day. I've canooed on the River Jordan - and I'm torn to say i've 'been' to Jordan when I never stepped on dry land.

I guess Gibraltar, Jersey, the Isle of Man and Tennerife aren't nations in their own rights, just territories. Visited them a few times.

    edit: Forgot about visiting Ireland

Well they aren't on the list from the UN or the US State department - or the wikipedia list of sovereign states - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereign_states

Damn, just short of the 41-100 category, even counting countries which no longer exist ;)

More travel geekery - how many languages do you know how to say "thank you" in (without looking it up)? Anyone beat 20 :D
