Neighbour's dog barking in garden

One of our neighbour's dogs is left outside in the garden all day and barks on/off, on/off, from 6.30am until around 4pm. We've put up with it and not said anything for months because we only moved here last summer and don't really want to ruffle any feathers being the "newbies"... that being said we are getting sick of it now.
Neither of us are good at confrontation or talking about awkward topics but i think we need to approach our neighbours and bring it up, does anyone have any ideas about what we can say and how we go about approaching the issue? would be much appreciated.

Do the neighbours go out to work at these times? They might not realise about the barking. If so maybe next time you see them ask if the dog is OK because it barks at lot which is usually a sign of distress. That would seem as if you care about the dog and not just complaining.
Are other neighbours disturbed by the barking? Maybe talking to them first and seing if anyone has mentioned it to the doggy neighbours.0 -
If it's the neighbor's dog then there might be a bunch of peoples who are facing the same problem as you. The first thing is that talk with them all and gather them to take a strict action against him.
Or, you can ask him personally to move the dog from the place.

I would try first talking to them and asking them if they realise the dog is continually barking.
Failing any action there you next step would be to contact the environmental health department of your local council and asking for their advice / help.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Exactly talk to them first, we were extremely annoyed when one of our new neighbours complained to the council that our dog was barking, We had no Idea, only after the complaint did I leave a camera running and seen he was0
