    May be wrong but if you can/do buy think you would need to know where that bond sits in the debt structure for payback if the bond issuer runs into trouble

    You can buy them in the same way you buy equities. Corporate bonds have SIC codes. Unlike equities there'll be minimum trade levels.

    For most people buying such instruments is best done through funds.
