We are selling our flat, landlord insurance is due but the tenants will only be in for 10 days before it is empty. Anyone know an insurance company that does short term landlord insurance?

Most polices can be cancelled within the first 14 days provided no claim has been made.
Are you sure the tenants will leave in 10 days?
Many annual policies can be cancelled later and pro rata refund given - check the small print for admin /cancellation fees.0 -
Thanks GM. yes we are sure the tenants will go, they have somewhere else to go and have been absolutely lovely throughout the tenancy so no concerns there.
I did think about the 14 day cancellation rule so I think we will go down that route.
Someone suggested just getting normal insurance as we'll need it anyway throughout the selling process but knowing our luck something would happen in those 10 days when the tenants are still there!0 -

Note 'normal' insurance will often have clauses on max unoccupied periods, and may not cover if it takes >30 days before the sale completes.0 -
Thanks, yes I had thought of that but we will be staying in the flat ourselves at weekends so it won't be empty for more than two weeks at the most while we are selling.0
