Hi all
The sun is shining but the wind is cutting today, so I'm glad not to have to go out.
I haven't done anything as yet as we were waiting for the window man. He's such a lovely chap, nothing seems too much trouble, but my can he talk a glass eye to sleep ! I think we have chosen the right firm for us, fingers crossed.
Anyway as the house is very tidy, just don't open any cupboards, there isn't much that needs doing. There is only a little bit of ironing but that can wait, as I'm having another day off for the Queen. I'm still coughing and spluttering but sleeping a little better.
It's refuse and recycling day tomorrow, so let's see if someone tries to put their rubbish in my bin again. They will have a shock as it's full to bursting with the bits from our old Xmas tree . I have tried to give it away but it doesn't come up to safety standards, shame really as it's still usable, just too big for us to manage anymore.
Our tea tonight will be bacon, sausage and blackpudding, I think I'll have a fried egg too. The bacon was a very large pack and I'm trying to use it up before it goes off, I dislike throwing food away.
Judi I second the idea of a baby sling, but how about a welsh shawl instead ?
Csarina I don't know how you cope with your OH, day in day out. You must have the patience of a saint :A.
ScarlettR yuck re the meat. DD opened a pot noo*le for DGS yesterday and noticed a dead fly on the top. I couldn't eat one of those without the fly ! _pale_.
Speky go on rub it in, only 27 indeed :rotfl:. I wish I were 27 again, but with the knowledge I have now IYSWIM.
Poppy  re the cushion.
Right I'm going to shut up now, come on, who said "hurrah" ?. Hope everyone stays safe and warm. Hugs all round, TTFN.

I haven't got a good sense of smell anyway. Once I got it in the oven though whoo hoo, the smell was nasty, definitely off. I've wrapped it, put it in fridge, and it's going back today with the original wrapper and the till receipt. I was all for just chucking it, but OH said we should return it, as they ought to know about it.I found a set of Reiki energy charged crystal pyramids that can be carried in a pocket or in a hand while meditating. They come in a pretty white angel wings dish and will not take up a lot of space, She is very into alternative remedies, meditation etc so I hope she likes them.nannywindow wrote: »ScarlettR yuck re the meat. I wouldn't want to go through those years again (bear in mind I was married to the XH when I was 27) but I'd like the relative lack of aches and pains I had then.
Csarina you have more patience than I do; I'd be getting a pill-popper and force feeding him his meds if that was me. Luckily Mr LW takes his meds without a fuss; I have an alarm set to take mine, as some are time-critical, and he takes his at the same time. Usually pinches my glass of water to do so, but that's fine.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Thanks for putting my mind at rest about the gift. I know she probably will have crystals already but I thought the pyramid shapes were unusual enough that she might not have those and the selection of crystals have differing attributes so there should be at least a couple she does not have. She also loves it when she finds a white feather so the white angel wings dish should be appreciated and the crystals have been Reiki charged already so she does not have to cleanse and charge them herself.
Have just worked out I am old enough to be speky's gran - eek.
hugs to all0 -
Good afternoon chums ,a crisp sunny morning this morning (aka blooming cold

Really heavy frost this morning and much consternation as the handbrake was frozen on the car, panic stations as I needed to be at the dentist at 9:30 sharp to take a cancelled appointment and then walk as quickly as poss round to the surgery for my B12 jab:eek:
Dentist was lovely even if he did make me gag (twice) trying to do X-rays:o, but I doubt the hygienist will be as kind next week, even though I pay out every month, all the health issues have meant I have not been to dentist for 18 months, sounds feeble, but could only cope with so many hospital/gp/blood tests/x-ray/osteopath appointments. Anyways have pulled myself up by my bootstraps and will try and behave in future.:rotfl:
Elona - the crystals sound like a great gift for your friend, Judi - I hope that the Diva has been good today, Csarina - I think I would be moving into the spare room and offering him soup and toast and telling him to get on with it by now, you must be so weary, another one here who could be Specky's nan!
I hope that all the poorlies are soon feeling better and that everyone has their share of sunshine. Time to shake myself and head for Ald* need fresh veg and lots of cheese, life is nothing in this house without copious amounts of cheese, thank goodness don't have to worry about my weight:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. MM I so agree about cheese! Mind you, I don't touch meat or fish. We are fortunate, there is a stall at the Farmers market that does fantastic cheese, all of it made with veggie rennet; we've been customers of theirs for years now, and if the chap isn't going to be there for whatever reason one month, he emails us so that we can put an order in and collect it early. Over Xmas, he even arranged to drop our (not inconsiderable) order off with a friend who lives within traveling distance of us, and arranged for us to collect from there! That's service for you!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Thanks Mrs SD. Just a question who's Ron ? Normally it doesn't get wasted but I haven't been eating much this past week because of this lurgy so Mr Fix It has done his best to finish a rather large packet on his own :rotfl:.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

Hi nannywindow, "Ron" stands for late(r on) I believe
. I think Mrs SD was just suggesting you save some in the freezer if you can't manage it all.

Evening all,
Diva was lovely this morning but started again in the afternoon. As i said before, she is ok if she is being held.:( Cant see a sling or welsh shawl working as she is is 7 months and quite heavy. Part of the problem is she gets tired but only sleeps 15-20 minutes before she wakes up again and by tea time she is shattered.
I too am old enough to be Spekys Mother but definately not his Nan.....Actually, 4 of my 5 children are older than Speky. In my defense i can only say i started young.:rotfl:
Csarina my sympathies. You have the patience of a saint.
