Which UK current account for gambling fund only?

I'm considering opening a bank account to use solely for gambling. Does anyone have advice on which bank and/or account type would be most suitable?

Thanks for any advice.

  • Any basic bank account with a firm that isn't part of your main banking relationship.
  • One that ideally gives cashback on gambling? Although dont think there is such a bank so any should do the job just ensure its basic account
  • I used Nationwide when I was matched betting; however there were quite a few occasions where they blocked transactions and I then had to ring up and confirm that I was depositing quite larges sums of money

I use Tesco for matched betting - don't have any other relationship with them for banking.

A savings account would be best. No option to go overdrawn.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Not many savings accounts give you a debit card or option to send payments to a bookie.
    You need a current account.

Seem to remember when I looked into this several years ago that some banks treat credit card payments to gambling sites as a cash advance.

No idea whether this is still the case.

Maybe, but he wouldn't be using a credit card.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

None of them: Using a bank account for gambling marks you out as a credit risk.

Go prepaid: Traditionally Neteller has been the card of choice for gambling and indeed comes up with gambling promotional offers from time to time. You can load it by transfer from your bank account or you can keep it separate from your bank account by loading it with paysafecard available from a local shop. You get your first virtual card for online transactions for free and you pay for more virtual cards and a plastic card.

  • I like to pay bingo on several sites, I use my bank account at the moment, but want to stop doing this as I want to be able to get a bigger mortgage in a year or so, I don't have any dept & pay all my bills on time, I would just like to keep my gambling private now

    Can anyone advise me please
