Recovery to garage after recovery home

Check terms and conditions of the breakdown serviceIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
-
The recovery companies I've used state either to your home or alternative address so if your car is at your home then you will have to pay to have it moved to a garage for repair if you requested the car be delivered to your home.0

I've never seen it spelt out one way or the other in T&Cs but over the years some have done this for me or told me (most recently Autoaid) that they would if the situation arose. I'm interested in people's recent experience of this service being provided or refused.0 -
I thought they usually had terms about coming out to the same fault twice which this may fall under0

In fact I've just remembered that I had a nighttime recovery to home followed by a daytime recovery to a garage by Autoaid less than two years ago!0 -
A few years ago I was recovered by Green Flag at around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon.
He arrived very quickly as he was at a nearby car park and took me and the car home. He couldn't fix the car but it required a major repair so that wasn't a surprise.
He said that someone would come back the next day at a time to suit myself and take the car to the local dealer which was about 4 miles away.
When I called Green Flag the next morning to arrange the time for recovery, I asked if they would take the car to the supplying dealer that was about 35 miles away - it wasn't a problem. Great service.0 -
I'm currently with Start Rescue (cover expires tomorrow which is why I'm comparing different firms' terms) and have just rediscovered this in their FAQs:
"Am I entitled to a second call out if you can't recover my vehicle to a garage?
No, we will only take you to your chosen destination under the initial call out. You are only entitled to one call out per fault and vehicle recovery to one destination. If you are at home and garages are closed, provided you have purchased the right level of cover we may advise you to call for assistance the following day. If we can't effect a repair, we will be able to recover you straight to a repairing garage."
So that's a pretty unequivocal no for them.0 -

I would certainly recommend Green Flag and price is usually pretty good. TopCashback is currently offering lowish cashback depending on level of cover but anything is better than nothing.
I also called them out for my last car with a flat battery that was linked to an issue from the repair of extensive accident damage, and they again turned up pretty quickly and sooner than their estimated arrival time.0 -
I'm with the AA and a few years ago my car conked out on the motorway at midnight. They brought me home on the back of a recovery truck and the following day got a patrol round to look at it (then tow me to a garage).Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230
