Renovations

It may be too late but here is my question:
I have a two bedroom upstairs flat in what was a semi detached house in Harrow - built in 1920s.
It was rented for the last 15+ years. Finally the tenancy ended and I decided to do major renovations:
Complete wiring - the wiring was extremely old
Remove electrical panel from floor level to higher up on wall outside second bedroom
Change old boiler which was replaced in 2003 to combi boiler Vaillant
New piping for boiler
New radiators
Removal of hot water tank and removal of wall to expand bathroom
Change bath from under window to wall adjacent with kitchen
Replace wash basin from original location to closer to window
Replace all inner doors
Remove ceiling and replace
Drain both tanks in loft and leave empty
Completely renovate kitchen
Tile kitchen/bathroom/toilet
Replace all old double glazing windows with new energy efficient ones
Replace roof valley as it was leaking
Replace skylight as it is leaking
I am not sure whether I needed to have permits for the complete renovation.
The builder did not mention it. Now a friend is saying I might have needed to have a permit to carry out all of this work.
Can anyone tell me if this is true and put me out of my too late misery.
For what it's work the property is mortgage free.
I had to take out a different kind of insurance (from the landlord insurance ) for three months, whilst the property is empty and all of this work is take place.
Thanks for your replies.

You dontt need to have a permit to carry out the work.
Your electrician and gas safe engineer should certify their work and submit to the council building control department once finished. The glaziers should give you a FENSA certificate.0 -
Thank you. That's what I thought.
The glaziers still have to return and install the front door once the renovating is completed.
I will then ensure that I receive the FENSA certificate.
I will look into the gas and electrician to ensure that this is done.0
